玩具食物？是拿来当玩具的食物吗？猜错了！玩具食物是把预先加工处理好的食材混合或搭配而成的食物，就像过家家玩的“做饭”一样简单，比如往一碗麦片里浇上牛奶做成的早餐。

Toy food is a food dish that comes premeasured and premixed and so requires only a minimal amount of preparation.

“玩具食物”是用预先切好、拌合好的食材，只需极少准备工作就能制成的一盘食物。

To make toy food, you just need to get a little piece of this, a little of that, put it all together and make something, just like it was an Erector Set.

要做“玩具食物”，你只需拿一点这个食材，再加一点那个食材，把它们放在一起就是一顿饭，就像搭模型一样。

For example, thinly slice a half pound of lean meat, brown it in a skillet for a few minutes, add two tablespoons of wine or water, the frozen package of sauce and vegetables — potatoes wedges, pearl onions, carrots, peas and sliced mushrooms, cook for about eight minutes and you have dinner for two.
