中纪委及国家监察委网站信息显示，2019年前10个月，纪律检查部门共处理违反中央八项规定精神的问题4.5万余件，处理6.3万多人。
Disciplinary organs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) handled more than 45,000 cases of violations of the eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct during the first 10 months this year, with more than 63,000 people punished, according to the official website of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

2012年12月4日，中共中央政治局会议审议通过改进工作作风、密切联系群众的八项规定，具体内容包括：要改进调查研究，切忌走过场、搞形式主义；要轻车简从、减少陪同、简化接待。要精简会议活动，切实改进会风；提高会议实效，开短会、讲短话，力戒空话、套话。要精简文件简报，切实改进文风，没有实质内容、可发可不发的文件、简报一律不发。要规范出访活动，严格控制出访随行人员，严格按照规定乘坐交通工具。要改进警卫工作，减少交通管制，一般情况下不得封路、不清场闭馆。要改进新闻报道，中央政治局同志出席会议和活动应根据工作需要、新闻价值、社会效果决定是否报道，进一步压缩报道的数量、字数、时长。要严格文稿发表，除中央统一安排外，个人不公开出版著作、讲话单行本，不发贺信、贺电，不题词、题字。要厉行勤俭节约，严格执行住房、车辆配备等有关工作和生活待遇的规定。
八项规定见证了党的建设在制度方面不断取得新突破，从严治党不断迈向新境界。《党政机关厉行节约反对浪费条例》《中国共产党廉洁自律准则》《中国共产党纪律处分条例》《关于新形势下党内政治生活的若干准则》和《中国共产党党内监督条例》等一系列党纪法规相继出台施行，构建起全面从严治党的长效机制。

We should continue to address the practice of formalities for formalities’ sake, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance, and oppose mindsets and acts of privilege seeking. We will focus on strengthening the enforcement of political and organizational discipline, and use this to prompt stricter observance of discipline on upholding integrity, on interacting with the people, and regarding work and life.
