北京时间11月21日0时，2022年卡塔尔世界杯揭幕战（A组第一轮）在海湾球场打响，东道主卡塔尔队在主场最终0:2不敌厄瓜多尔队，这也使得世界杯东道主首战不败神话破灭。

Enner Valencia scored two first-half goals as Ecuador beat hosts Qatar 2-0 in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

11月20日，在世界杯揭幕战中，厄瓜多尔队凭借老将恩纳·巴伦西亚在上半场的两粒入球2比0击败东道主卡塔尔队。

Despite having 47 percent of possession, the hosts didn't manage a single shot on target while Ecuador had three.

尽管有47%的控球率，东道主卡塔尔队却没有一次射正，而厄瓜多尔有三次射正。

The result marked the first time that a host team has lost the opening game of the World Cup.

卡塔尔队也成为了世界杯历史上首支输掉揭幕战的东道主球队。

Qatar will face Senegal in their next match on Friday while Ecuador are scheduled to meet the Netherlands the same day.

接下来，卡塔尔队将在11月25日对阵塞内加尔队，而厄瓜多尔队将同日与荷兰队交锋。
