Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will make a three-day state visit later this month to China, where he will meet President Hu Jintao for the fifth time this year, a Russian ambassador said on Monday.
The two leaders will discuss a wide range of issues to deepen their strategic partnership, and bilateral trade relations will top the agenda, Russian Ambassador Sergei Razov told a briefing ahead of Medvedev's visit to China.
Medvedev and Hu are expected to issue two joint statements on deepening the two countries' strategic partnership and on the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of World War II, Razov said.
In May, Russia held a grand ceremony for the 65th anniversary of World War II, which President Hu was invited to.
They will also witness the signing of agreements between enterprises in traditional and clean energy, Razov said.
This will be Medvedev and Hu's fifth meeting this year. They have met during the summit of the BRIC Group (Brazil, Russia, India and China) in April, Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and G20 Summit in June and the 65th anniversary of World War II held in Moscow in May.
Medvedev will also visit a memorial to former Soviet Union war dead in Northeast China's port city of Dalian and attend events to mark Russia Pavilion Day at the Shanghai Expo, Razov said.
