London combines both fashion and history. The British Museum, in which human evolution and progress are demonstrated, is one of the greatest museums in the world; The National Galley houses numerous painting masterpieces; in The National Portrait Museum, you can enjoy the portraits of celebrities of all times, as well as their anecdotes; the Victoria and Albert Museum is the home to the finest applied and decorative arts; Tate Modern, born in the new millennium, is the paradise for artists of new generation.

The British Museum

The British Museum in London is one of the world's largest and most important museums of human history and culture. It was established in 1753 and was based largely on the collections of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. The museum first opened to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montague House in Bloomsbury, on the site of the current museum building.

The National Gallery

The National Gallery is an art gallery in London, located on the north side of Trafalgar Square. It houses Western European paintings from 1250 to 1900 from the national art collection of Great Britain. The collection of 2,300 paintings belongs to the British public, and entry to the main collection is free, although there are charges for entry to special exhibitions.

The National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery is an art gallery in St Martin's Place, London, which opened to the public in 1856. It houses portraits of historically important and famous British people, selected on the basis of the significance of the sitter. The collection includes photographs and caricatures as well as paintings, drawings and sculpture.

The Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V&A) is on the corner of Cromwell Gardens and Exhibition Road in South Kensington, west London, England. It specialises in applied and decorative arts.

Tate Modern

Tate Modern is Britain's national museum of international modern art in London and is, with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives, and Tate Online, part of Tate. Since the museum's opening on 12 May 2000, it has become a very popular destination for Londoners and tourists. Entry to collection displays and some temporary exhibitions is free.
