Bundle up, but not too much
Winter is here, and China is setting records for low temperatures. How do you bundle up against the cold? Experts advise us to wear loose layers when donning sweaters, coats and gloves to go outside. Here’s what can happen if you try to put on too many layers of warm clothing.
Texting while walking
China’s online population now numbers 457 million, according to a new report this week from the China Internet Network Information Center. And most use their mobile phones to access the Internet. That means it’s time for our Warning of the Week: Don’t text while walking. Here’s what happened to one woman at a shopping mall this week when she wasn’t paying attention.
Texting on motorcycles
Don’t text while riding a motorcycle, either. It might distract your fellow drivers and cause them to have a wreck.
Texting before toilet training
And please, please, don’t let your babies start texting.
Bundle up for fun
You don’t have to be a star athlete to enjoy winter sports. At Houhai in the heart of Beijing, almost anyone can zip around the frozen lake on skates, ice-chairs and ice-bicycles. There are even mechanical toys that pull little ice-rickshaws. Just don’t get too competitive.
