An escaped British prisoner is taunting police and attracting a growing Internet fan base. Escaped prisoner Craig Lynch is doing it with Facebook.

Authorities told The Associated Press that Lynch escaped three months ago from a prison where he was jailed on a burglary conviction. Since then, authorities said he has been updating his Facebook page, taunting police. He has posted a picture of himself with a “Wanted” sign on the social networking site.

He also has attracted lots of fans at his Facebook page. Customized T-shirts have been made with his picture on them.

But not everyone is a fan. Some netizens are writing in to remind his fans that they are cheering for a criminal. Meanwhile, the search for the escaped convict continues.
