The Qatar women's basketball team forfeited a match at the Asian Games on Wednesday after being refused permission to wear the Islamic headscarf.

周三，因裁判不允许她们戴头巾比赛，卡塔尔女篮退出了比赛。

卡塔尔女篮“退赛”用forfeit a match表示，这里的forfeit指give it up willingly, especially so that you can achieve something else（为了获得其他东西而主动放弃某事），卡塔尔女篮放弃比赛是为了向国际篮联传递信息，希望未来国际篮联能够改变相关的比赛着装规定。Forfeit更常见的意思是“没收、被剥夺”，比如，He was ordered to forfeit more than £1.5m in profits（他被勒令上缴150多万英镑的利润）。

如果只是单纯因为个人原因或不可抗力退出比赛则可以用abandon/pull out of/withdraw from the game表示，比如，Lee Chong Wei abandoned his game in the decider due to injury（李宗伟在决胜局因伤退赛）。
