中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席、中央财经委员会主任习近平9月9日主持召开中央财经委员会第八次会议。他强调，要统筹推进现代流通体系建设，为新发展格局提供有力支撑。
President Xi Jinping stressed coordinated efforts to advance the construction of a modern logistics system to provide strong support for a new development pattern on Sept 9. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at the eighth meeting of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs. He is also head of the committee.

建设现代流通体系对构建新发展格局具有重要意义。在社会再生产过程中，流通效率和生产效率同等重要，是提高国民经济总体运行效率的重要方面。高效流通体系能够在更大范围把生产和消费联系起来，扩大交易范围，推动分工深化，提高生产效率，促进财富创造。国内循环和国际循环都离不开高效的现代流通体系。
党的十八大以来，我国流通体系建设取得明显进展，国家骨干流通网络逐步健全，流通领域新业态新模式不断涌现，全国统一大市场加快建设，商品和要素流通制度环境显著改善。在抗击新冠肺炎疫情过程中，流通业发挥了重要作用。同时，我国流通体系现代化程度仍然不高，还存在不少堵点亟待打通。要认真研究应对新冠肺炎疫情的经验，加快建立储备充足、反应迅速、抗冲击能力强的应急物流体系。

要统筹推进现代流通体系硬件和软件建设，发展流通新技术新业态新模式，完善流通领域制度规范和标准，培育壮大具有国际竞争力的现代物流企业，为构建以国内大循环为主体、国内国际双循环相互促进的新发展格局提供有力支撑。
Coordinated efforts are needed to advance the building of hard and soft infrastructures for modern logistics system, develop new logistics technologies and business forms, improve industry regulations and standards, and nurture modern logistics companies with global competitiveness, so as to provide strong support for the new development pattern in which domestic and foreign markets boost each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay.
