8月23日，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平来到河北省塞罕坝机械林场尚海纪念林，纪念林是塞罕坝精神发源地。习近平同林场职工代表亲切交流，他强调，你们做的事非常有示范意义，对全国生态文明建设具有激励作用和深远影响。
President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, on August 23 visited the Shanghai memorial forest in the Saihanba forest farm located in north China's Hebei province. The Shanghai memorial forest is the birthplace of the "Saihanba spirit". When talking with staff representatives of the farm, Xi said their efforts have set a good model and are of great significance for ecological advancement nationwide.

【知识点】
塞罕坝位于河北省承德市北部、内蒙古浑善达克沙地南缘，曾是物产富饶、牲兽繁育之地，是皇家猎苑木兰围场的一部分。从19世纪下半叶开始，由于开围垦荒，树木被大肆砍伐，原始森林逐步退化成荒原沙地，风沙肆虐。20世纪60年代初，新中国下定决心建一座大型国有林场，恢复植被，阻断风沙。1962年，369名平均年龄不足24岁的创业者，从四面八方奔赴塞罕坝，在白雪皑皑的荒原，拉开了创业的序幕。塞罕坝林场人以超乎想象的牺牲和意志苦干实干，三代人用半个多世纪的艰苦奋斗，把荒原变成了绿洲，为京津冀地区构筑起一道防风固沙、涵养水源的绿色生态屏障。
2017年，塞罕坝林场建设者荣获联合国环保最高荣誉——“地球卫士奖”。塞罕坝林场是目前世界上面积最大的人工林，塞罕坝实现的“绿色蜕变”，是中国生态环境改善和高质量发展的经典案例之一。

塞罕坝精神是中国共产党精神谱系的组成部分。全党全国人民要发扬这种精神，把绿色经济和生态文明发展好。塞罕坝要更加深刻地理解生态文明理念，再接再厉，二次创业，在新征程上再建功立业。
Saihanba spirit belongs in the long line of inspiring principles for the CPC. The entire Party and nation should have the same spirit in their efforts to develop the green economy and further ecological progress. Workers at the Saihanba forest farm should gain a deeper understanding of ecological conservation and continue their hard work for new achievements.
