皇家莎士比亚剧团的长期项目致力于将莎翁所有作品译成中文，而《亨利五世》正是项目的第一部译作。11月，上海话剧艺术中心与英国皇家莎士比亚剧团首次联手共同呈现，倾情演绎莎翁经典。

亨利五世为英格兰的兰开斯特王朝国王（1413年-1422年在位），在他短暂的九年统治期间，他取得了中世纪任何一位英格兰国王都未取得过的军事辉煌。莎士比亚基于英格兰亨利五世国王生平，于1599年创作了《亨利五世》这部著名历史剧，着重描写百年战争期间的阿金库尔战役。

Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, 12-27 November 2016

The Royal Shakespeare Company kicks off its major ten-year cultural exchange collaboration with translations of Chinese classics into English and performance-based translations of Shakespeare’s plays into Chinese, starting in the rehearsal room of Henry V.

The Company will collaborate with the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre on a new Chinese production of Henry V based on this pilot translation.
