CareerCast has released their annual “Jobs Rated 2014: Ranking 200 Jobs From Best to Worst.” Since 1988, this report has helped Americans learn more about potential careers by examining such factors as income, work environment, stress and hiring outlook.
The information offered by the Jobs Rated report is invaluable to the American worker, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ American Time Use Survey reveals that employed persons ages 25 to 54 with children spend 8.8 hours of their day working or completing work-related activities.
The Jobs Rated report also offers a window into careers that rise and fall in popularity. Publication editor, for example, ranked No. 31 overall 12 years ago, but in 2014 it ranked No. 139.
According to USA Today, 90 percent of the best jobs belonged to the science, technology, engineering and math career category.
“This absolutely verifies the importance of STEM careers,” Tony Lee, publisher of CareerCast.com and JobsRated.com, told USA Today.
