912.17亿=912.17 billion？论学会用英语数数的重要性

11日24时，天猫“双11”全球狂欢节的交易额定格在912.17亿元，然而现场大屏幕上给出的英文数字却是RMB 912.17 billion (9121.7亿元)，吓得小编赶紧重新翻出了英语字典。深深体会到学好英语数字用法的重要性之后，咱们就赶紧学起来吧。

1~99的英文想必大家能够脱口而出，所以咱们重点围观下复杂的“大数据”，比如912.17 billion神马的。

要读英文，首先你要从个位数起，每隔3位加个“,”然后还得知道5个基本词

百 = hundred

千 = thousand

百万 = million

十亿 = billion

万亿 = trillion

1,000 = one thousand

先问个简单的——>200的英文？

200 = two hundred，hundred用单数，别问为啥，这是规则~~

同理，300 = three hundred，4,000 = four thousand，五百万 = five million，80亿 = eight billion。

综上可知，912.17亿的正确英文说法是91.217 billion，912.17亿 ≠ 912.17 billion！

记好了，当说到具体数字时，hundred/ thousand/ million/billion统统都用单数！！！

再问一下，“几百”的英文怎么说？

几百 = hundreds of，你没看错，这里hundreds用复数啦！这也是规则，不是具体数字反而用复数。

同理，几千 = thousands of，更猛的是hundreds of thousands of = 几十万、很多很多的。

1. 表示整点用基数词加可以省略的o'clock

5:00 读作 five o'clock 或 five

2. 表示几点过几分，在分钟后加past，再加小时

7:05 five past seven

6:30 half past six

8:15 a quarter past eight

3. 表示几点差几分，在分钟后面加to，再加小时

7：50 = 差十分八点 = ten to eight

11:45 = 差一刻十二点 = a quarter to twelve

5:40 = 差二十分六点 = twenty to six

在日常生活中，常用以小时、分钟为单位分别读出数字的方法表示时间。

6:31　读作six thirty-one

10:26 读作ten twenty-six

14:03 读作fourteen o three

16:15 读作sixteen fifteen

18:35 读作eighteen thirty-five

纪年

世纪可以用定冠词加序数词加世纪century表示，也可以用定冠词加百位进数加s表示。

the eighteenth（18th）century 公元十八世纪

the 1900s 二十世纪

the 1600s 十七世纪

这里，用百位数整数表示的世纪比这一百位阿拉伯数字本身多一个世纪。

年代用定冠词及基数词表示的世纪加十位整数的复数形式构成。

in the 1930s（in the thirties of the twentieth century或in the nineteen thirties）在二十世纪三十年代

in the 1860s（in the sixties of the 19th century或in the eighteen sixties）在十九世纪六十年代

年份一般写为阿拉伯数字，读时可以以hundred为单位，也可以以世纪、年代为单位分别来读。

1902 读作nineteen hundred and two或nineteen o two

1949 读作nineteen hundred and forty-nine 或nineteen forty-nine

1800 读作eighteen hundred

253 读作two hundred and fifty-three或two fifty-three

分数

分数是由基数词和序数词一起来表示的。基数词作分子，序数词作分母，除了分子是“1”以外，其它情况下序数词都要用复数形式。

1/2 读作a half

1/3 读作one third或a third

1/4 读作one quarter或a quarter

3/4 读作three fourths或 three quarters

1 1/2 读作one and a half

3 1/4 读作three and one fourth或three and one quarter

小数

小数用基数词来表示，以小数点为界，小数点左首的数字为一个单位，表示整数，数字合起来读。

小数点右首的数字为一个单位，表示小数，数字分开来读；小数点读作 point，o读作 zero或o [əu]。整数部分为零时，可以省略不读。

0.4 读作zero point four或point four

10.23 读作ten point two three

25.67 读作twenty-five point six seven

1.03 读作one point o three

电话号码

1. 读电话号码通常是以三位数或是四位数为单位连着念的。

如：189-234-5670读作 one eight nine, two three four, five six seven o

2. 可一个数字一个数字的单念，也可以两个数字为一个单位。

如: 1212读作one two one two或者是twelve twelve

3. 两个相同数字相邻，可用“double+数字”代替。

如：876-5544读作eight seven six, double five, double four

而三个相邻的数字，可用“triple+数字”代替。

如：999-8765读作triple nine, eight seven six five
