Usually, snakes can swallow mice whole. But in winter, things may be reversed. In a zoo in Nanjing, some white mice, which were supposed to be the snake's food, started to gnaw on the snake. The zookeeper put some mice into the snake's enclosure but the snake was in hibernation, and needed hardly any food. The mice, on the other hand, were hungry and turned on their erstwhile predator.
