报道中的“face-lift”指的是“翻新”，有时也可写做“face-lifting”。

“Face-lift”原意指“整容（除去面部皱纹的手术）”，后引申为（建筑物）的改建、装修和翻新，也可用做动词。

看下面两个例句：The school's face-lift astonished students.（学校外貌焕然一新，学生们大为惊讶。）
