Amazon Studios announced Monday that it has acquired global television rights to the Lord of the Rings franchise, based on the best-selling novels by J.R.R. Tolkien.
亚马逊工作室13日宣布，已经买下J•R•R•托尔金畅销小说《指环王》系列的全球电视剧版权。

据外媒报道，2014 年《指环王》系列前传《霍比特人》第三部拍摄完成后，华纳兄弟（Warner Bros.）电视部就试图将这个魔幻史诗系列搬上电视。该项目吸引了HBO 、网飞（Netflix）等不少大牌竞争者，但其中最志在必得的便是亚马逊工作室（Amazon Studios）。

Amazon has yet to reveal a release date or who might feature in the TV adaptation.
