中宣部8月26日发布文献《中国共产党的历史使命与行动价值》。文献介绍，100年来，中国共产党团结带领人民进行的一切奋斗、一切牺牲、一切创造，归结起来就是一个主题：实现中华民族伟大复兴。

The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Aug 26 released a key publication on the Party's mission and contributions. The document, titled "The CPC: Its Mission and Contributions," stressed that over the past hundred years, all the struggles, sacrifices and efforts made by the CPC and by the Chinese people under its leadership have been directed to one goal -- the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

1921年，中国共产党成立。这是开天辟地的大事变，深刻改变了近代以后中华民族发展的方向和进程，深刻改变了中国人民和中华民族的前途和命运，深刻改变了世界发展的趋势和格局。在伟大建党实践和百年奋斗实践中，党形成并弘扬坚持真理、坚守理想，践行初心、担当使命，不怕牺牲、英勇斗争，对党忠诚、不负人民的伟大建党精神，鼓舞和激励中国共产党人拼搏奋斗、砥砺前行。

100年来，中国共产党领导人民改写了近代以后中华民族的屈辱历史，改变了近代以后中国人民的悲惨命运。没有共产党，就没有新中国，就没有中华民族伟大复兴，这是中国人民依据中国革命、建设、改革的历史经验得出的最基本、最重要的结论，是中国人民基于切身体会所确认的深刻认识。中国共产党领导，是历史的选择、人民的选择，是党和国家的根本所在、命脉所在，是全国各族人民的利益所系、命运所系。

【重要讲话】

江山就是人民、人民就是江山，打江山、守江山，守的是人民的心。中国共产党根基在人民、血脉在人民、力量在人民。中国共产党始终代表最广大人民根本利益，与人民休戚与共、生死相依，没有任何自己特殊的利益，从来不代表任何利益集团、任何权势团体、任何特权阶层的利益。

This country is its people; the people are the country. As we have fought to establish and consolidate our leadership over the country, we have in fact been fighting to earn and keep the people’s support. The Party has in the people its roots, its lifeblood, and its source of strength. The Party has always represented the fundamental interests of all Chinese people; it stands with them through thick and thin and shares a common fate with them. The Party has no special interests of its own—it has never represented any individual interest group, power group, or privileged stratum.
