"Can you tell me how to differentiate 'hinder' and 'hamper'?"

Feifei received a food hamper 当名词使用时的意思是装食品的篮子 for Christmas.

But the verb 'hamper' means something quite different!

e.g. The rescue progress was hampered by the bad weather.

The verb 'hinder' has a similar meaning to 'hamper'.
