博士生短期科研访学

项目简介

受大不列颠及北爱尔兰联合王国商业、创新和技能部与中华人民共和国教育部委托，英国大使馆文化教育处和中国国家留学基金管理委员会共同设立博士生短期科研访学项目，以支持中英两国高等教育机构之间的博士生交流。

本项目将资助中国或英国博士研究生前往英国或中国开展为期3-12个月的学习或访问。在博士研究生派出期间，强烈建议其导师对接收机构开展一次短期访问，这将便于导师与对方国家的同行交流认识，也有助于他们了解学生所处的不同研究背景和遇到的问题。

本项目将优先支持以下科学研究领域的博士研究生交流:

• 健康/生命科学（例如：艾滋病病毒/艾滋病、疟疾、肺结核、被忽视的热带病、儿童死亡率、孕产妇健康）

• 环境技术（例如：气候变化、绿色技术、可持续发展、生态系统服务、资源短缺问题）

• 食品和水安全

• 能源

• 城镇化

• 有利于推动经济发展，提高民众福祉的教育和创意产业

须提醒申请人注意的是，申请人需自行与计划前行的接收机构确认访学安排。所有访学必须在2017年12月31日之前完成。

申请人资格

中英双方申请人均须为博士学位在读学生。中方申请人必须来自能够授予博士学位的单位，中方接收院校必须具备接收国际学生的资格。英方申请人必须来自在以上支持领域拥有一流研究成果的高等教育机构。中方申请人必须符合中国国家留学基金管理委员会规定的申请条件，并应具备良好的英语水平。

PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grants China-UK

About this opportunity

The UK-China Joint Research and Innovation Partnership Fund (known in the UK as the Newton Fund) PhD placement programme is delivered by the British Council China and the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and China’s Ministry of Education.

This programme is a sponsorship opportunity for UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend a period of study of three to 12 months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China or the UK. The focus is on research areas that reflect the common interests and demands of both countries, including:

• health and life sciences

• food and water security

• environmental technologies

• energy

• urbanisation

• education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare

Please note, applicants must find a host institution in their target country and placements must start between January and December 2017.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to UK and Chinese nationals who are currently enrolled, as PhD students, at accredited higher education institutions or research institutions in the UK or China respectively. UK students studying for their PhDs at institutions in China and Chinese students studying for their PhDs at institutions in the UK are not eligible.

UK PhD applicants should be from UK institutions with strong research record in the six areas of focus (see the first section on this page). UK applicants should be UK passport holders. Candidates of other nationalities must hold passports from countries that have diplomatic relations with China.

Host universities in China must be eligible to admit international students.
