Reader's question: He thinks the world of you, you know that?

Could you explain “think the world of”?

My comments:

If he thinks THE WORLD of you, he thinks very highly of you, either likes you very much or has a lot of respect for your talents or as a person.

Pick any or all of the above compliments, ok?

Why not accept all these compliments (^_^) and think well of yourself for a moment. Yeah, to him, you’re that good.

In another usage, he might just say that you mean THE WORLD to him.

In which case, he definitely adores you – he thinks you’re everything to him.
