Waxing lyrical

There is only one thing creepier than a wax works museum, and that's a really bad wax works museum. And one of the worst would have to be the museum in Huayingshan, Sichuan province, which has recently drawn wide attention in China with it's somewhat questionable celebrity reproductions. The best would have to be Actress Zhang Ziyi, whose wax work figure looks like the bastard love child of Zhang Ziyi and gollum from Lord of the Rings. Zhang is upset and is getting her lawyers involved, but she should remember, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

All Blacks put safety first

In New Zealand rugby is king, but safety comes first. Regular fliers know that passengers on planes tend to tune out when the safety videos air and New Zealanders fly a lot, because they are really far away from... pretty much everywhere that's not New Zealand. The national carrier Air New Zealand recently came up with a novel way to keep people watching their safety video, enlisting the help of the country's rugby team the All Blacks to do a spoof on the US movie, Men in Black, with hilarious results.

Dishy waitress

What is it with Taiwan and ridiculously attractive food and beverage workers? We had the hunky beancurd seller the peachy fruit market vendor and the beautiful butcher or "Pork Princess", but move them aside like so many discarded leftovers, because the dishy new looker is an employee of US mega chain McDonalds. A blogger posted photos of Golden Arches employee Hsu Wei-han serving customers in the city of Kaosiung and Taiwan internet users have gone crazy for them. The doe-eyed beauty has people across Taiwan going gaga, meanwhile wannabe models across Taiwan should really stop trying to get magazine photo shoots and open a donut stand.
