搜寻马来西亚航空公司MH370航班联合协调中心14日宣布,决定部署美国海军“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”自主式水下航行器下水展开搜寻行动。在首次任务开始6个小时后,因搜寻海域深度超过“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”的可潜最大深度4500米,其内置的安全装置自动将其带回海面。

The head of Australia’s joint coordination centre, Angus Houston, announced on Monday that the Australian defense vessel Ocean Shield would no longer be using the towed pinger to attempt to locate noises from the black box of flight MH370 and would instead deploy a submersible, the Bluefin-21, to continue the search.
联合协调中心总协调人休斯敦周一宣布暂停澳大利亚海军“海洋之盾”号补给舰使用拖曳声波定位仪搜寻MH370航班黑匣子信号来源,转而使用“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”遥控水下航行器进行搜寻。
“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”(Bluefin-21)是一款自主式水下航行器(autonomous underwater vehicle),也叫unmanned submersible。被投放至海底后,“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”将发射声呐脉冲(sonar pulse)扫描海底,脉冲将向两个方向以弧形散开。“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”会接收到在脉冲范围内物体的反射声波(reflected sound wave),利用“声波阴影”判断物体高度并形成图像。
不过,由于搜寻海域深度超过“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21” 4500米的可潜最大深度(maximum depth limit),在首次水下搜寻开始6个小时后,其内置的安全装置(built-in safety feature)就将其送回了海面。最新消息显示,“蓝鳍金枪鱼-21”下水6小时收集到的数据分析没有重大发现。
