全国人大常委会27日开始审议刑法修正案(九)草案。此次刑法修改的重点之一是逐步减少适用死刑罪名，草案拟对集资诈骗罪等9个罪的刑罚规定作出调整，取消死刑。

The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress is considering reducing by nine the number of crimes subject to the death penalty through revising the Criminal Law.

全国人大常委会拟通过《刑法》修正案减少九个适用死刑的罪名。

Crimes subject to the death penalty就是“适用死刑的罪名”，报道中简称“死刑罪名”。此次刑法修改拟取消的9个死刑罪名分别是：走私武器、弹药罪（smuggling weapons and ammunition）、走私核材料罪（smuggling nuclear materials）、走私假币罪（smuggling fake banknotes）、伪造货币罪（counterfeiting banknotes）、集资诈骗罪（collecting funds through fraud）、组织卖淫罪（organizing prostitutes）、强迫卖淫罪（forcing prostitution）、阻碍执行军事职务罪（hindering the enforcement of military duties）、战时造谣惑众罪（spreading rumors during wartime）。
