闲暇时光要如何度过呢？有人邀约不断，忙于应付；有人却嫌时间太多，不知怎么打发。还好我们居住的地方周边一般都会有商场，在家里无趣的人们可以偶尔选择去那里打发时间，做个mall rat。

Mall rat refers to youngsters that spend time at the mall just to hang out whenever they get the chance with no other particular purpose.

Mall rat指一有空就喜欢到商场里漫无目的闲逛的年轻人，我们姑且简称为“贸鼠”。

These youngsters walk around the mall for hours at a time, and usually do not make one single purchase. These creatures think they are "cool" and will find someone to mate with by wearing slutty clothes, but in reality, they are just wasting their life away walking around the mall all day long with nothing better to do.

这些年轻人能在商场里逛数小时，而且通常什么都不买。他们觉得穿着性感时髦的衣服在商场里走很“酷”，并且希望能在那里遇到跟自己相配的另一半。其实，他们这样做只是在浪费生命，一无是处。

For example:

I used to be a typical mall rat hanging around watching the crowds, especially the girls. But now I join the football club, and I have no time.

我过去特喜欢在商场闲逛，在那里看人来人往，主要是看女孩子。但是现在我加入了足球俱乐部，就没时间了。
