A good eye

Kim Bowden
Towards the end of his days he was responsible for establishing the town's first municipal museum. If that had been all Herr Grebenar achieved, commendable though it was, he would have gone to his grave unworthy of even a short story. However, there is more to be said about this man because God had given him a rare gift: a good eye.

Could you explain "a good eye"?

When we say someone has a good eye for something, we mean they have a talent for evaluating its worth.

For example, if your friend has a good eye for fashion, they are great at spotting up-and-coming trends.

Or, if you have a good eye for bargains, you are one of those people that always find the best and cheapest deals at a market, often while your friends pay too much for bad buys at the same place.
