紫蛙长着猪一样的鼻子，肥胖的身躯完全看不到腰的存在。不知是不是因为长得太丑了，它常年生活在底下。但俗话说，蛙不可貌相，这种生物已经在地球上存活了1.3亿年之久了。

The pig nosed frog is fat, purple and lives underground - perhaps because it is so hideous. But despite it gelatinous lumpy appearance the purple frog is the sole survivor of a group of amphibians that evolved 130 million years ago. Their population is thought to be in decline, thanks to the destruction of the forests for the cultivation of coffee and other crops, and so the species has been classified as endangered.
