纪念马克思诞辰200周年大会于今日上午10时在人民大会堂举行。中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平出席大会并发表重要讲话。

在讲话中，习近平高度评价了马克思的一生，阐释了马克思主义的科学体系和丰富内涵，总结了中国共产党带领人民创造性推进马克思主义中国化的壮阔历程和丰硕成果。

他说：

马克思主义为中国革命、建设、改革提供了强大思想武器，使中国这个古老的东方大国创造了人类历史上前所未有的发展奇迹。

历史和人民选择马克思主义是完全正确的，中国共产党把马克思主义写在自己的旗帜上是完全正确的，坚持马克思主义基本原理同中国具体实际相结合、不断推进马克思主义中国化时代化是完全正确的！

马克思主义第一次站在人民的立场探求人类自由解放的道路，以科学的理论为最终建立一个没有压迫、没有剥削、人人平等、人人自由的理想社会指明了方向。

For the first time, Marxism stands from the perspective of the common people while seeking a path for human liberation. Its goal is to use scientific theory to establish a world without oppression and exploitation, where everybody is equal and free.

马克思主义之所以具有跨越国度、跨越时代的影响力，就是因为它植根人民之中，指明了依靠人民推动历史前进的人间正道。

Marxism has influenced people across borders and time precisely because it is deeply rooted in humanity. The right path is to depend on people to advance the progress of history.
