Robert Pattinson, the British actor who plays a vampire with superhuman strength and speed in the Twilight series of films, has admitted he looks like a transvestite in the role. The 23 year-old, who plays Edward Cullen in the Hollywood blockbusters - based on the hugely popular Stephenie Meyer novels - said he had his eyebrows plucked and had heavy make-up for the role. “You get to the point where you think, 'OK, I look like a transvestite now',” he said. In an interview, he admitted that he didn’t understand why so many teenage girls found him attractive. The actor, originally from Barnes, southwest London, said he found being beautiful “quite hard”, despite insisting that half of people didn't get his sex appeal. “They’re like, what’s that all about,” he told The Times. Asked if he found attention irritating, he replied: “I guess it’s part of your reality”. He admitted it was a “little bit harder to deal with” and that he gets “stressed out much quicker”. Millions of people have watched the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie, which has been leaked to YouTube. The film, due to be released in the summer, reveals the dilemma heroine Bella Swan, played by his co-star Kristen Stewart, will face with Edward. Last week he was greeted by hordes of screaming fans as he launched his new film, Remember Me, in London's Leicester Square. In a previous interview he claimed he did not consider himself sexy. "I don't feel that I'm sexy at all. I don't feel connected to that kind of talk. People say it but I've never thought like that,” he said. "It's funny because even the girls that think like that, if you talk to one of them for five minutes the illusion is gone. But people still hold on to that illusion." Pattison, who last month finally confirmed he was dating his co-star Stewart, has previously been intensely secretive about his private life. He made the confession that the pair were an item at a dinner held after the Baftas.
