Recession这个词在近两年被提及的次数恐怕难以计算，而自2008年起的大范围裁员则是这个recession的一个直接后果。在这个过程中，在职场打拼的人都不容易。不过，有证据表明，金融危机对男性的影响远远大于女性。男性所从事的工作受经济衰退影响严重，而女性却能在失败后很快找到新工作。所以，就有了man＋recession得出的mancession这个词。
Mancession refers to a recession that affects men more than women. Also called "hecession".
男人衰退（mancession）指对男人的影响多于女人的经济衰退，也叫做hecession。
It turns out that men have been hardest-hit by job losses in the last year, largely because they dominate the sectors where layoffs have been most widespread. So as the total number of available jobs has gone down, the share of remaining jobs held by women has increased.
现实表明，男人们在去年普遍受到失业的重创，很大程度上是因为他们所主宰的行业裁员幅度最广。因此，随着就业岗位总数的减少，女性在岗的比例却有所增加。
It's a recession that hurts men much more than women, and we are allegedly in the worst mancession in recent history. Eighty percent of job losses in the last two years were among men, and it could get worse.
这次衰退对男性的危害远大于女性，而我们正处于近期历史上最严重的男人衰退时期。在过去的两年中，有80％的裁员是涉及到男性的，而情况可能还会更糟。
