Could you explain Cyber Monday in America？

Cyber Monday is the online retail industry's name for the Monday immediately following Thanksgiving, during which stores and retailers offer sales online. It's a marketing term in the United States created by companies to persuade people to shop online. The term made its debut during the 2005 holiday season, on Nov 28, 2005, in a shop.org press release called "Cyber Monday." The term is also used in Canada, the UK, Portugal and Germany.
