SARFT to ban Internet slang on screen and ads

广电总局禁止荧屏“网络用语”

Use of Internet slang and non-standardized Chinese on media programs and advertisements will be banned.

使用网络语言等非标准国家通用语言的影视节目及广告将被禁止播放。

According to a notice issued in late November by State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, use of words, terms and proverbs and other phrases must follow standardized rules in the Chinese language.

广电总局11月底发布一项通知，要求各类广播电视节目和广告必须严格按照规范写法和标准含义使用国家通用语言文字的字、词、谚语和其他短语。
