Hello and welcome to China Daily's The Week, your source for all the news you don't need. This episode, is the last episode for our intrepid host Eric Jou. That said, this week, we bring you a story about sandstorms, Singaporean sitcoms and the most influential person in the world!
Yellow Tide
This past Wednesday Beijing witnessed its largest sandstorm in decades. The storm brought layers upon layers of sand and dust into the city. It also put an end to China Central Television's good mood, caking their newly cleaned headquarters with sand and dirt. CCTV's Pants building received a cleaning costing more than $80,000, and in less than a week, they have to clean it all over again.
Un-un-un-unbelievable
Right now, blowing up the internet is a music video from a Singaporean sitcom called Spouse for House 2. The music video, designed to explain why one of the characters on the show likes to say unbelievable all the time is truly "Unbelievable". The video might leave you…stunned like a vegetable!
President Vladimir Number One
Time Magazine's annual list, the Time 100 is about to be released. However, before the release of the list, they have an online poll for readers to vote in the most influential people in the world. This year, like almost every year, South Koreans have rallied to vote in a South Korean pop star. Unfortunately for fans of K-pop, the honor of this year's Time user selected Most Influential person is Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.
