中央组织部有关负责人证实，广东省深圳市市委副书记、市长许宗衡，因严重违纪，中央已经决定免去其领导职务，现正按程序办理。

据官方消息称，深圳市长许宗衡因“严重违纪”已被免去领导职务。

上面的报道中，disciplinary violation就是“违纪”的英文表达，也可以用disciplinary offense表示；换个说法，其实就是violate the discipline（违反纪律）的意思。

不管上学还是上班，我们都需要遵守各种各样的discipline，如classroom discipline（课堂纪律），job discipline（劳动纪律），school discipline（校规）等。一旦有人违反了某条纪律就会受到惩罚，可能是disciplinary warning（警告处分），disciplinary probation（留校/职察看），也可能会严重到disciplinary dismissal（开除）。
