通知要求，各网站要落实主体责任，进一步规范包括移动新闻客户端、微博、微信在内的各类网络平台采编发稿流程，健全内部管理监督机制(improve internal management and supervision mechanism)。通知要求网站标注新闻来源(give credit to the original news source)，严禁道听途说编造新闻或歪曲事实(publishing hearsay as news or distorting facts are strictly prohibited)。各级网信办要切实履行网络内容管理职责(cyber administrations at all levels should be responsible for the management of Internet content)，加强监督检查(enhance their inspection and supervision)，严肃查处虚假、失实新闻信息。

今年以来，国家网信办进一步加强了对网络信息的监督和管理，查处了一批制作或传播网络虚假新闻的信息提供商(deal with a number of information providers that produce or spread fake news online)。国家网信办有关负责人表示，将保持整治网络虚假新闻信息的高压态势，不断规范网络新闻信息(online news and information)传播秩序。欢迎广大网民对网上违法和不良信息进行监督举报，共同维护良好网络生态(jointly maintain a good online ecosystem)。
