2015年11月1日起正式实施(come into force)的《刑法修正案(九)》(the 9th Amendment to Criminal Law)明确，在法律规定的国家考试(national test/exam)中，组织作弊的(those who organize cheating)，处三年以下有期徒刑(jail time of less than three years)或者拘役(detention)，并处或者单处罚金(concurrent or separate fines)；情节严重的(extreme violations of the rule against cheating)，处三年以上七年以下有期徒刑，并处罚金。作为"作弊入刑(cheating in national exams listed as a criminal act)"后的首次高考，不少媒体将今年的考场纪律(discipline)称为"史上最严(the strictest ever)"。

此前，教育部印发规定，提出试卷运送车辆(vehicles used for transporting test papers)须加装视频监控设备(be equipped with video surveillance devices)或使用GPS、GPRS、RFID等技术手段，确保教育考试机构全程监控试卷运送(monitor the vehicles during transportation)。考试期间，每个考场(every test room)内配备2名以上监考员(test supervisors)，考场外设若干流动监考员。要结合各地实际，采用二代身份证现场报名确认(identity verification on the site)、现场采集照片(photo taking)和指纹或指静脉等生物特征、及时进行信息比对(timely data match)等措施严防替考(surrogate exam-taking)。

今年高考期间，不少地区还将把高科技引入了考场，用于提升考场作弊防控系统。广东、湖北省将采用人脸识别(facial recognition)系统、指纹验证(fingerprint verification)系统、金属探测器(metal detector)、电子监控系统(electronic monitoring system)等高科技手段。湖北、海南等地禁止佩戴手表进入考场(watches are forbidden in exam rooms)。海南还要求，在考试过程中，如有考生如厕后返回考场(come back to the test room from the toilet)，监考员应在视频监控下(under video surveillance)用手柄式金属探测器(hand-held metal monitor)(声音设置为震动报警模式)对考生重新进行安检。
