The original British accent was more like the modern-day American accent, and research has shown that it is the British accent which has evolved more since colonizing of North America.
Originally, both the British and Americans spoke with a rhotic accent.
Rhotic essentially means an accent where the letter 'r' is pronounced strongly after a vowel.
Examples: sure, later, over
比方说:sure, later, over
Rhotic accents are strong in both the US and Scotland, but seem to have disappeared from British English, and its derivatives, such as Australian and New Zealand English.
talk, word, sure, later, over, first, further, fair, hot, either, schedule, girl, world
Either[ˈiðɚ] or either[ˈaɪðə(r)], schedule[ˈskedʒul] or schedule[ˈʃedju:l] is correct. It all depends on what kind of accent you are following.
Either(美式)或者either(英式),schedule(美式)或者schedule(英式)发音都对。
